Education
New York University - Bachelors, Psychology with Minors in Molecular Cell Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Experience
I attended New York University to major in psychology. I minored in molecular and cell biology, physics, and chemistry. I am a member of the International Honor Society in Psychology. When taking the MCAT, PSAT, ACT, and SAT, I excelled in both the writing and reading sections. While in college, I tutored peers to help them improve in these tests and subjects. I have experience in teaching children, teenagers, and young adults a variety of topics, including health, dance, and algebra. Through these interactions, I learned that every student learns differently and it is important to adapt my teaching style to suit them. As a tutor, I believe it is important to understand the student's short and long-term goals. I use these to better personalize their lesson plans. I also work to develop their self-motivation by demonstrating the relevance of the material they are learning. I believe patience, compassion, and flexibility are of utmost importance in teaching. Aside from the materials, I want to teach students to develop the skills necessary to learn independently and build new ideas. When I'm not planning or teaching, I love to dance. I am an explorative person who loves to create, whether it is music, poetry, or short stories.
